逢甲大學關心您-給學校師生的一封信
On the evening of June 13, 2025, a tragic accident occurred on campus when a banyan tree unexpectedly fell. The incident has brought deep sorrow and heartfelt grief to our community. During this time, many faculty members and students have come together to offer care and support, hoping to bring comfort and warmth to the affected family and fellow students.
This is a time for us to stand by one another and face the moment together. When unexpected events occur, it’s natural to experience a wide range of emotional reactions—these feelings are real and deserve to be acknowledged and understood. The university has consolidated counseling and mental health resources, and we encourage everyone to express emotions when needed and to make use of available support services. Take care of yourself, and be there for each other.
Here are a few self-care tips to help you through this time:
🧘 Five Steps to Emotional Grounding — Supporting yourself through emotional lows:
Safety: Ensure your own safety and that of your surroundings. Avoid information or situations that increase anxiety or discomfort.
Calm: Do something that helps you feel at ease, such as listening to music, taking a warm bath, practicing yoga, or doing deep breathing exercises.
Capability: Engage in activities that bring you a sense of value and control—such as checking in on your emotions and identifying sources of stress.
Connection: Stay in touch with friends and loved ones. Emotional support and companionship are powerful stabilizers.
Hope: While some things are beyond our control, we can choose to hold on to hope. With time and companionship, healing and strength will come.
We cannot change what has happened, but we can choose how we respond and how we support one another. Challenges may lie ahead, but the university will continue to walk beside you.
