“Passing the Flame”: FCU Student Organization Inauguration and Leadership Handover Ceremony Marks a New Chapter of Student Leadership

Feng Chia University held its Academic Year 2025–26 Student Organization Inauguration and Leadership Handover Ceremony, themed“Passing the Flame,” on June 14. The event opened with faculty advisors and student committee leaders making creative entrances alongside the organizations they mentor. Vice President Kuo-Hao Tang encouraged all student leaders to embrace the ceremony’s theme, emphasizing that leadership transitions represent not only the transfer of responsibility, but also the passing on of experience, values, and passion. He expressed confidence that incoming leaders would build upon the achievements of their predecessors, continue to innovate, and guide their organizations toward new milestones while keeping the spirit of student organizations alive across generations.
FCU Urban Planning Students Spend Eight Months in Dacun Township, Earning Recognition for Community Planning Proposals

Third-year students from the Department of Urban Planning and Spatial Information at Feng Chia University (FCU) held a planning presentation on June 17 at the Dacun Township Office in Changhua County, showcasing the results of eight months of field surveys, community interviews, analysis, and planning work. Using Dacun Township as their study site, student teams examined local environmental characteristics, industrial development, transportation systems, community needs, and public spaces before proposing development concepts that received positive feedback from local residents and invited guests.
FCU Urban Planning Students Recognized at National Planning Exhibition for Projects on Rural Development and Aging Society

The 21st National Exhibition of Planning Departments’ Studio Projects was held on May 23 at the University of Taipei, bringing together 14 planning-related departments from 13 universities across Taiwan. Students from the Department of Urban Planning and Spatial Information at Feng Chia University earned awards for both of their featured projects, extending the department’s remarkable record of receiving recognition for six consecutive years at the exhibition.

The graduate program of the Department of Urban Planning and Spatial Information at Feng Chia University held its capstone project exhibition on May 27 at the Activity Center of Xitun Elementary School. Titled“Revitalizing Xi Dadun: A Big Hands–Little Hands Initiative for Reimagining the Historic Granary District and Enhancing School Commuting Safety,” the exhibition showcased the achievements of university students working closely with local communities, elementary school students, and local cultural heritage resources to improve neighborhood quality of life through innovative planning and design.

The Department of Urban Planning and Spatial Information at Feng Chia University has once again demonstrated its academic excellence. Students Yung-Ching Hsu and Chung-Huai Hsu, under the supervision of Chih-Chao Ho from the Master's Program in Smart City, received the Excellence Award in the Academic Paper Category of the 2026 Chinese Society of Spatial Information Annual Awards for their research titled: “Downscaled Risk Assessment for Urban Planning Under Climate Change: A Case Study of the Kaohsiung New Town Specific District Plan.”
FCU Partners with Fengmiao Offshore Wind Farm to Cultivate Green Energy Talent

In response to the global transition toward net-zero emissions and the rapid growth of the renewable energy sector, Feng Chia University signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on April 30 with Fengmiao Offshore Wind Power Co., Ltd., a company under Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP). The signing ceremony took place at the Taichung City Government, marking the beginning of a strategic industry–academia partnership focused on offshore wind power education, internships, and professional exchange.
